Terms of service

Last updated: {{TBD: date these terms were approved by the client}}

These terms apply when you book locksmith work with Toronto Prime Locksmith. They cover what we do, how a job is quoted, how payment works, what is warranted, and how to cancel. Booking work with us means accepting them.

Who we are

Toronto Prime Locksmith, 287 Bridgeland Ave Ste B, North York, ON M6A 1Z4, Canada. Telephone (289) 460-1916. Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays.

{{TBD: legal entity name if it differs from the trading name, and business registration number if the client wants it published}}

What we do and what we do not do

We supply and fit locks, open locks, rekey and replace cylinders, cut and program keys, and repair the hardware on doors, for residential, commercial, and automotive customers within the service areas listed on this site.

We are not a carpenter, a glazier, an alarm company, or a garage. Where a door, a frame, a window, or a vehicle needs work beyond the lock, we will tell you and you will need a different trade. We do not take on work we are not equipped for.

We open doors only for people who can show they live at, work at, or otherwise have authority over the address. Photo identification showing the address is the simplest proof. We will refuse the job and charge nothing where that cannot be shown.

Quotes and prices

You are given a figure for the job on the call, before a technician is dispatched. That figure is based on the description you give us of the door, the lock, and what it is doing.

If the job on arrival is materially different from the description, the technician stops and gives you a revised figure before doing any further work. You can decline at that point. {{TBD: confirm whether anything is charged if a customer declines at that point, for example a call-out fee}}

Starting prices published on the pricing page are for the simplest version of a job and are not a quote for yours. The quote you are given on the phone is the price.

All prices are in Canadian dollars. {{TBD: confirm whether quoted prices include or exclude HST}}

Payment

{{TBD: accepted payment methods, whether payment is due on completion, whether a deposit is ever taken, and whether an invoice or receipt is issued as standard}}

{{TBD: whether commercial account terms are offered, and if so on what basis}}

Warranty

{{TBD: what is warranted, for how long, and what voids it. State labour and parts separately if they differ. Hardware supplied by us normally also carries its own manufacturer warranty, which should be named here.}}

A warranty does not cover damage caused after the visit by force, by a further break-in attempt, by weather, or by somebody else working on the same door.

Where you supply the hardware and we fit it, the workmanship is ours and the product is not. A lock that fails because of how it was made is a matter for whoever sold it to you.

Cancellation

Call (289) 460-1916 to cancel. The sooner you call the better, because a technician already on the road is a cost that has been incurred.

{{TBD: cancellation policy. Is anything charged if a technician has already been dispatched, or has already arrived? State the amount and the trigger.}}

If we cannot complete the job, for example because the lock turns out to need a part we do not carry or because identification cannot be produced, we will tell you what has been charged and why before we leave.

Damage and drilling

Most locks open without damage. Where a lock cannot be opened by any non-destructive method, drilling may be the only route. You will be told before that happens, told what the replacement will cost, and asked to agree to it.

Locks and doors that are already damaged, seized, or previously worked on by somebody else carry more risk. We will point that out before starting.

Liability

{{TBD: liability position, and whether the business carries insurance. Do not state any insurance cover on this site until the certificate has been provided, because it is one of the claims Google Ads polices most closely in this category.}}

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot be limited under Ontario or Canadian law.

This website

The content of this site is provided for information. It is not a substitute for advice about your particular door, lock, or vehicle, and the general guidance on these pages may not apply to your situation. Call and ask if you are unsure.

Submitting the callback form is a request for contact, not a booking. A job exists once you have spoken to us and agreed a figure.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute goes to the courts of Ontario.

Changes

These terms may change. The version that applies to your job is the one published on the day you booked it, and the date at the top of this page tells you when it was last revised.
