Locked out right now
Call and tell us the address, what kind of door it is, and what the lock is doing. You will be given a figure for the job before a technician is dispatched. While you wait, three things are worth doing.
Do not force the handle
A handle that is being levered on is how a lockout turns into a door repair. If the key turns halfway and stops, stop with it.
Leave a broken key where it is
The half in the cylinder can normally be extracted. Pulling at it with pliers pushes it deeper and turns a key extraction into a new cylinder.
Find your identification
We need something showing you live or work at the address before we open a door. A lease or an ownership record works if the licence has not caught up.
What it costs, and how you get the number
You get a firm figure on the phone before a technician is dispatched, based on what you tell us about the door. No locksmith can price a job they have not been told about, so the more you can describe, the closer the number is.
- You get the figure before anyone is dispatched
- Describe the door and the lock on the call and you are told what the job costs before a technician sets off. Not an estimate range, a figure.
- The quote only moves if the door does
- If what is on the door turns out to be materially different from what was described, the technician stops and tells you the new number before doing any further work.
- A starting price is for the simplest version of the job
- A standard cylinder on a standard door. High security cylinders, multi-point patio doors, and anything that has already been forced take longer and cost more.

Who you are calling
Toronto Prime Locksmith is a locksmith shop in North York covering the Greater Toronto Area around the clock. Four things are worth knowing before you dial.
- A real address in North York
- We work out of 287 Bridgeland Ave Ste B, North York, ON M6A 1Z4, not a call centre with a rotating list of subcontractors. You can look it up before you call.
- Genuinely 24 hours
- Every day of the year, holidays included. Being open overnight is not a marketing line here, it is when a large share of the work happens.
- 10 cities, one shop
- Toronto, North York, Scarborough, Etobicoke, East York, York, Vaughan, Markham, Richmond Hill, Aurora. Each of those has its own page covering what we get called for there.
- You are told the price first
- Before dispatch, on the call. If the door turns out to be different from the description, work stops and you get the revised figure before it continues.

Questions people ask
Are you actually open at 3am?
Yes. We work 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays. Call (289) 460-1916 at any hour, tell us the address and what the door is doing, and we will tell you what the job needs before anyone is dispatched.
Which areas do you cover?
Toronto, North York, Scarborough, Etobicoke, East York, York, Vaughan, Markham, Richmond Hill, and Aurora. Our shop is at 287 Bridgeland Ave in North York and we work outward from there.
Will you have to drill my lock?
Only where the lock leaves no alternative. Most residential and commercial cylinders can be opened without damage, and we will tell you on the phone if what you are describing sounds like an exception. If drilling turns out to be the only route, you are told before it happens and told what the replacement will cost.
What do you need from me before you open a door?
Identification showing that you live or work at the address, or a document such as a lease or an ownership record if the identification has not caught up with the move. We do not open doors for people who cannot show a connection to the property.
Do I get a price before the work starts?
Yes. You are given a figure on the call, before a technician is dispatched, based on what you describe. If the door turns out to be materially different from the description, the technician stops and tells you the revised figure before continuing.
Something not covered here? Call (289) 460-1916 and ask. We would rather answer it on the phone than have you guess.
